The current administrative move is to place approximately 20,000 U.S. troops into Afghanistan. It is estimated that at a minimum, the number needs to be 10-times that amount. One-half million Russian troops occupied Afghanistan through the 80's. And where did they get? The indication is that dealing with Afghanistan takes more than a military policy. The indication is that Pakistan needs to be included in the policy. Fortunately the latest developments in the Obama Administration recognize this need.
